Point of Service Payments

Most outpatients are asked to make a $75 "Point of Service" payment upon arrival for an outpatient procedure, outpatient surgery or ER visit.

Patients are informed of the fee when pre-registering or scheduling an appointment. Schedulers advise patients to be prepared to pay $75 at the time of service, or they give them the option of paying by credit card in advance of the appointment.

Some patients are exempt from paying Point of Service fees including inpatients, Medicare, Workman's Compensation and automobile liability patients and Medicaid patients who have no co-pay or share-of-cost requirements.

Point of Service payments allow patients to make relatively small payments in advance of care and help to reduce billing costs.
