Keeping employees well is in the best interest for everyone concerned! Community Health assists businesses with education and selected screenings.

Health fairs

Epidemiology

Regional West’s Community Health nurses are specially trained in the identification, monitoring, treatment, and follow-up of communicable diseases. Partnering with infection control personnel, county, state, and if necessary, national health departments and epidemiologists, outbreaks are identified and treated in a timely manner. Such identification, treatment, and follow-up help limit the involvement of the public in contracting these illnesses. We offer education on communicable diseases and prevention on an individual or group basis.

Emergency preparedness

Are you and your family or business prepared in the event of a natural or man-made disaster? Community Health is active with emergency preparedness. Working with local, state, and national coordinating entities, you can trust that your community will be protected and served in the event of a disaster. Training is a big part of the preparedness and includes all local law enforcement, fire departments, ambulance services, emergency medical personnel, support employees, and volunteers.

Genetic clinic

Community Health works with the Munroe-Meyer Institute through the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Quarterly clinic appointments are made by medical referral, but a referral is not required. The clinic is staffed by well-known geneticists and counselors. Initial consultation is grant funded, so is available at no cost to the client.

Medically handicapped children’s clinic

In conjunction with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Community Health offers a program that provides specialized medical services for families with children with disabilities or those who have ongoing healthcare needs.

Services may include:

  • Services coordination/case management

  • Specialty medical team evaluations

  • Access to specialty physicians

  • Payment of treatment services
