Regional West Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ground ambulance service that serves the 16 counties in Trauma Region 4 and beyond, staffing both Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Nationally Registered Paramedics (NRP). Regional West EMS provides emergency and non-emergency 911, hospital to hospital, and critical care transport services. As the state's only Level II Trauma Center west of Kearney, Regional West EMS is an essential part of Regional West Trauma Services.

Our fleet of ambulances is fully equipped with ALS equipment to help meet the individual needs of the patients entrusted to our care.

History

In the summer of 2002, Regional West Medical Center established Emergency Response Care (ERC) in response to a request from the City of Sidney, Nebraska; Cheyenne County; and Memorial Health Center (now Sidney Regional Medical Center) regarding its need for both 911 services and inter-facility transports between regional hospitals.

Since that initial request, ERC’s name has changed to Regional West Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to enhance and focus on Regional West’s continued focus on providing trauma services with a growing fleet of ambulances.

Staff

We staff Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Nationally Registered Paramedics (NRP). All of our paramedics must be nationally registered within one year of employment.

Arranging a Transport
